Priorities on a Page

December 24, 2011

There’s a notebook I left open all fall,

—Since September to now.

Left open on a page on my desk where the sun lit upon it every morning and afternoon.

There’s a heading for priorities and a heading for a shopping list on top of it.

—A page filled with lines.

Under Shopping list

—Dashed followed by 3 notebooks

—Dashed followed by books for classes

—Dashed followed by New button Shirt

Then Priorities

God is underlined.

—Another dash and School

An L-shaped line connecting particularly to English classes

—Work

TPP

—Health

Eating well

Sleeping a healthy amount of hours

Exercising through running, workouts

—Saving money

$200 dollars a month

—Deadlines

Foreign Language requirement

Speak with academic advisor

Speak with SSCP English advisor

So after all this time the lines on the page have disappeared. They have been exposed to the light of the sun and the sun has erased the lines,

—But the words remain.

I enjoyed reading this. It’s powerful in a sense, the emphasis of time lapsing is awesome. The fading of the lines! J’adore! Don’t let the lines fade, they are the reminder that everything has it’s time, now or never. Acheive those goals and slash the words with a smile or you’ll be left with the reminder that the lines once were there. *i hope I made sense!

    • Merci Monsieur, I’m glad you enjoyed it. “Priorities” is definitely about goals as well as being in a moment in time when these goals have so much influence in one’s life. I like the way you read it too. I saw the fading of the lines as the removal of boundaries in which all that remained were the essentials, but I like your interpretation as well because I agree with you, we can’t let lines fade because they are the reminder of where we were and all that we want to achieve.

    Glad to see you back.
